Attaching Templates and updating styles (Word 2000)

I have a custom built template which I attach to 3rd party docs using a macro which goes through the doc and sets the style parameters. However, this only seems to work for the style fonts, numbering, line spacing and tabs. It does not amend the paragraph indenting on paragraphs with the relevant style. It changes it in the styles list but to get the correct para indents the styles have to be manually applied to each of the relevant paragraphs.

Please, please help, because this is slowly but surely driving me mad!!!!

Not sure why it's not taking the indent instruction from your macro -- I had something like this happen on a document assembly projects and was able to reapplying the existing style to all the paragraphs in the document by cycling through them in code. Have you tried this and still been unable to update them?

The most obvious explanation would be that indents are applied as manual formatting (since manual formatting always overrides the things defined in the style).
You've made sure that is not the case?

And when you want to remove any manual (local) formatting you select it and press Ctrl-Q and Ctrl-Space.

Yep... Ctrl+Q (ResetPara) should be enough, or re-applying the style.
If you want to "reset" some indented style selectively, you can search for it and replace it with the same style (leaving "Find what" and "Replace with" empty).
