    autoexec? (2000)

This may be a knucklehead question, but I can't find an answer, so I hope someone here can help. I've recently replaced my XP machine with a new one. Installed Office 2K on the new machine, then used the dreaded Files and Settings Transfer Wiz to move most of my data to the new machine. Now, every time I open or close Word (whether to an existing doc or not), I get an error message: "Compile Error in Hidden Module: AutoExec". I've tried using Word's annoying help files, but the help file talks about W95 and NT (!)....nothing newer....and the cryptic instructions don't seem to apply to anything I can find.

Can someone tell me how to get rid of this stupid thing?

    TIA

You have somehow caused an AutoExcec macro to be moved to your new system.

Sounds like you may have different versions of Word, or other libraries, on the new system and that breaks the AutoExec macro.

Or the AutoExec macro could be pat of a 3rd party add-in.

You will likely need to track down the macro.

While Howard provided a link to his web site, I'm sure he meant to provide this one: Phil Rabichow's <!post=Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word (97/2000),197827>Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word (97/2000)<!/post>.

You folks have once again reminded me of what's great about the 'net. Places like this almost make spam worth putting up with! Thank you!
