Printing Fonts in Grey Color (Excel 2000)

Is there a way to print fonts in grey color on a B&W laser printer ?

You should be able to just set the text to a color other than black. The lighter the color the lighter gray it should print. For example, yellow prints a a very light gray. If you have an option in your printers properties to "Print in Black and White" or "Print text in Black" or something similar, make sure that this option is NOT selected.

Make sure that under Print Settings/Sheet that the black and white checkbox is cleared.

Just for the record, in XL97 even with the Black and white checkbox cleared, I have never been able to get it to print with anything other than black text. Backgrounds are shades of gray, but never the text. Text seems to be black unless you specifically list it as white. There is nothing in between.

My "Black & White" box was unchecked. Excel 2000 behaves just like 97, fonts only in black or white, nothing in between.

Maybe it is something to do with your printer and driver (you might want to check to see if there is a newer driver available). On my XL2K running on Win 2K, using an HP Laserjet 2200D, my text prints in gray scales.
