    Hyperlink in Excel (2000)

I have created a purchase order in Excel which has an email graphic. Currently the hyperlink sends a new email message to the sender. I want the hyperlink to "reply" to the sender, sending the original email contents back. Is there a way to do this?

Sorry, I don't understand. How should a hyperlink in an Excel spreadsheet know about the existence of an "original email"?

When you right click on a picture or graphic, you can assign a hyperlink. This is what I have done, but I want it to be a reply link, not just a new email.

Hyperlinks can be created that will generate an email. But I think the "Reply To" feature is only found within an Email program. The Hyperlink in an Excel workbook would have no way of knowing who to "Reply To".

It seems that there should be a way to not only point it to the senders email (which I did), but to also tell it to send the original page in their inbox. ??? Maybe not though. I send the PO via email and want to have a button on the form for them to click which will "reply" to sender, with the original email content.

The e-mail application has a reply button, but, like Reimer, I don't see how a hyperlink in an Excel workbook could "know" how to create a reply.

The alternative would seem to be trying to set up automation from Outlook, but I have difficulty seeing how that could be done. HTH

Not completely clear on what you want to do, but if I understand, how about:
Instead a hyperlink, run a macro
The macro would create a copy of the file and change the macro assigned to the button (even changing graphic, caption, if desired) to a different macro which essentially would run a routine to send it back. (the reverse of this routine). The sheet would be attached to an email and sent to the location. When that person opened it, there would be a button to send it back.

    This sounds good, but I have never run a macro in excel before. <img src=/S/dizzy.gif border=0 alt=dizzy width=15 height=15>

<post#=348005>post 348005</post#> has some good references to get you started.

Check out the code in Ron de Bruin's site for some code for emailing.

    Post back with specific questions.
