Re: Access creates New Pages (Word 2000)

If you use Catalog as the type of main document (Step 1, using the Mail Merge wizard), you eliminate the section break.

Access creates New Pages (Word 2000)

Edited by Phil Rabichow to make the link clickable - see Help #19
I've used <!mskb=211303>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 211303<!/mskb> to set up a test mailmerge using Access as the database source, but when I run the mailmerge it creates a "section break (New Page)" for each record.

I sthere any way to change this default behavior?

    Thank you Phil-

Is there any way to format it without starting from the Wizard's "Catalog" type? Can this be formatted manually?

Re: Access creates New Pages (Word 2000)

Sure. In your merged document, press Ctrl+H to bring up the Find/Replace box. Make sure "use wildcards" is unchecked & no formatting is present in the Find or Replace box. Then:
    Find: ^b
    Replace: ^p

This replaces every break with a paragraph mark. I always make a copy of a complex document before I start messing around with it, just in case you don't get the results you wanted & Word crashes at an inopportune moment.
    Cheers,
