    Email Report (XP)

Never asked to do this B4 - DO NOT use Outlook as Email software. Someone wants me to email them a report created in Access based on a query.

How the heck do I do that?

    Thanks

    Re: Email Report (XP)

Create your report, use the following code to send the report.

DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport, "YourReportName", acFormatSNP, "EmailAddress@This.com", , , "MessageTitlet", "BodyText You want to insert."

acFormatSNP will set it in snapshot format
You can use other formats if you want:
    acFormatDAP
    acFormatHTML
    acFormatRTF
    acFormatTXT
    acFormatXLS

Good Morning (at least it's morning here) Francois - thanks for the reply. I have no clue what you're talking about, though. You need to explain this to me as though I were a beginner using Access - which I am pretty much.

    Thanks again

If you don't want to use SNP you could try PDF as an alternative, search for PDF995 and Express ClickYes in the lounge here to find some more info.
If you need any more info please post back.

Just to complete the thread, the snapshot format is a method of sending an Access report to someone who doesn't have Access - but it does require that you have Office installed, and that the recipient have the snapshot viewer (which can be downloaded from the MS website) installed. It does an accurate representation of the report, as does creating a PDF, but other methods such as RTF loose much in the way of formatting and graphics.

Thank you Wendell - I sort of figured that out but it's nice to see it presented so clearly.

If I'm ever in Denver, I'll come to hear you sing.
