    Menu Items (Wd 2003)

I have been having a look at Word 2003 and there are a couple of menu items that I can't figure out.

One is Insert/Picture/Clip Collection - clicking this does nothing

The other (which was there in XP as well but I didn't figure it out) is Tools/Fix Broken Text - what on earth does this do?

Another is on the Format menu/Format Gallery

In 2003 there is no ? "What is this" in most cases so it is really difficult to track these down

    Any help greatly appreciated

Do you have any Word add-ins running? I do not have any of these options in my copy of Word 2002

I wonder if those are for use in WordMail (Outlook 2002 or 2003 with MS Word as the mail editor)?

I can select Tools>Macro>[Word Commands]>FixBrokenText, but the Run button is grayed out. I do not use WordMail.

Can you get context help by pressing Shift+F1. That was the equivalent of "? What's this?".

    Re: Menu Items (Wd 2003)

Thank you all for your input - just checked my PC at Home - also running 2003 - these items are not on the menus there. The only add-in that I can think of that we have at the office is Adobe Writer 5 - maybe it has something to do with this.

    Shift F1 doesn't work in 2003 either

In Word 2002 (Office XP), Shift+F1 became a shortcut to open the "Reveal Formatting" task pane. Maybe the shortcut is gone but the task pane still is there? Just a lot less convenient. <img src=/S/sad.gif border=0 alt=sad width=15 height=15>

    Hi Karen:
In so far as the menu options, it does sound like an add-in. You can follow the steps starting with #2 in <post#=197827>post 197827</post#> to check this out.

    Re: Menu Items (Wd 2003)

Thanks all for your help - checked out the PCs at the office and they didn't have those menu items so it must be a hangover from some other app which has stored the add-ins.

Thanks once again to all who contributed
