My Mom is running Win98. Recently, her computer has started asking for screen name & password before starting Windows, when she turns on her computer. If she clicks "cancel", the window closes, and her computer continues starting Windows, as it did before.

Why did it start doing this? And how can we get it to stop asking for password?

Any & all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Passwords are required if user profiles are used - perhaps another user has been added?
