    Special Characters (Word 2002)

Using (alt) and the numpad you are able to enter special characters (ASCII codes). Ex. Atl + 172 you get 1/4. Is there a place I can see all the special character combinations?

See the attached spreadsheet for a comprehensive list of ALT codes.

If you want A4 printouts of Alt+ codes for any installed font, or just to display in the Excel sheet, see <post#=308520>post 308520</post#>

    Re: Special Characters (Word 2002)

How about finding and replacing special characters that are not formatting codes? I have a user that want tos replace a bunch of (what appear to be Euro signs) with legal subsection markers. On the charts these would be Alt + 0128 and Alt 0167. Thanks

    Method

    hold down the Alt key
type nnn on the numeric keypad
    then release the Alt key
    (uses DOS Code Page 850)

The user can enter ^0128 in the 'Find What' box, and ^0167 in the 'Replace with' box.
