drag and drop (Outlook office 2000)

Once in a while, not all the time, when I go to my INBOX to download incoming emails to my project folders, when I try to drag and drop, I get the circle with the slash through it -- indicating it will not move the email(s) into the target folders. Then, sometime later, it works fine. My IT people say it may be a need for me to rearrange the disk drive (defragmenter). Does the Lounge agree? Anyone else with this particular problem (and with a solution)?

    Thanks.

Could also be the fact that the email has NOT been fully copied to your hard drive and is still in use.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

So, patience should clear it up? Usually within a few minutes it allows dragging and dropping again. However, I have a loarge cache of emails and could the numbers of emails be the problem?

Are you working on an Exchange Server or Internet client?

Duh. We have a network of PCs tied into an AS400. That's all I know.
