    hiding db window (Access 2000)

    Is there a way to hide the database window for all users except those that have admin privlages? Thanks..

    Go to "Tools" -> "Startup" and uncheck the "Display Database Window" -- that's a quick and simple way, although it hides it for everybody. Those with full versions of access (and I don't know about admin rights) can unhide the window at will, when you want to see it.

    To expand on Patricia's suggestion, any user can cause the DB container window to appear by holding down the SHIFT key when they open the database, or by pushing the F11 key. There are some VBA steps that can be taken to prevent those from working, but then you need to create a backdoor which will open it for the developer. Access User Security doesn't really work with this aspect of database protection, though it would be nice if it did.

    You can also hide the tables and queries in the db window.
