    Print to Distiller (Office 2k)

    Hello all, great site! I was wondering if anyone can guide an amateur on how to include some code into a macro which would force my workbook print to Acrobat Distiller instead of the default printer. (tried making Distiller the default printer when running the macro but its not a very robust method i eventually found!)

    Any help will be very much appreciated!

    Thanks
    Jon

    Welcome to the Lounge!

    Try recording the required code:
    - Select Tools | Macro | Record New Macro...
    - Click OK.
    - Select File | Print...
    - Select Acrobat Distiller from the Name dropdown list in the Print dialog.
    - Click Cancel.
    - Stop recording.
    - Switch to the Visual Basic editor and view the recorded macro.
    The instruction will look like

    Application.ActivePrinter = "name of Distiller"

    You can use this information in the PrintOut method:

    ActiveSheet.PrintOut ActivePrinter:="..."

    Hi Jon
    The following code will temporarily change the default printer. It saves the name of the default printer and sets it back at the end of the code.

    Dim DefaultPrinter As String
    DefaultPrinter = Application.ActivePrinter ' change printer
    Application.ActivePrinter = "Name of Acrobat Distiller printer goes here"

    'Your code here

    Application.ActivePrinter = DefaultPrinter 'change back to default printer
