    Formulas stopped working (Excel 2002/SP-2)

    <font face="Georgia">Hello,

This is a perplexing and, probably, dumb problem.

I have created a spreadsheet that I use to track how many steps I climb at work each day (I work on the 14th floor). To use it I enter the number of times I have climbed to my floor from the ground floor, floor where the cafeteria is, etc. Various formulae calculate the number of stairs for the day, week, month, year, convert them to total miles, feet, and meters, and estimate how many calories I have burned and pounds avoided. Sounds obsessive, I know.

The problem is that this sheet (which has worked flawlessly for nearly a year, suddenly stopped calculating as I enter data. The calculations will update if I close the file and reopen it, but not in real time. With the brilliantly indexed Help File provided by Microsoft, I have not been able to find the answer.

    Can anyone help me? <img src=/S/please.gif border=0 alt=please width=31 height=23>

    Thank you.

    Hi Rob

    Check Tools>Options...
On the Calculation tab make sure calculation is set to automatic

    <font face="Georgia">Tony,

Thank you. I have not touched my Options settings, but somehow the calculation was set to manual.

    Still should have figured it out for myself. <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15>
