    Scanning using Kodak Image Controls - SetScanCapab (2002)

    (Edited by HansV to preserve indentation and to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

    After sloshing through many posts regarding scanning in Access, I have the code below. I want to scan from a button on a form, and have the image save to a file - Can DO! What I am working on now is setting the scanner options using the SetScanCapability method as described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default..../graphmulti.asp

    When I run this code I get this:

    Run-time Error '438':
    Object doesn't support this property or method.

    Why not? Any ideas welcome! Thanks.

    ImgScan1.ScanTo = UseFileTemplateOnly '4
    'Set the image property to a template name.
    ImgScan1.Image = "C:Scansimg"
    'SetFile type to TIFF
    ImgScan1.FileType = 1
    'MultiPage property must be set to true in order to create
    'files with more than one page.
    ImgScan1.MultiPage = True
    'Do not show the scanner's TWAIN UI.
    ImgScan1.ShowSetupBeforeScan = False
    'Open Scanner

    'Set Scanner Options to B/W-300dpi
    ImgScan1.SetScanCapability 100, 1 'Black and White
    ImgScan1.SetScanCapability 101, 300 '300 dpi in X, Y will be semetrical
    ImgScan1.SetScanCapability 107, 2 'auto-doc feeder
    'Scan without using dialog box.
    ImgScan1.StartScan

    End Sub</pre>

    Please help me with this if you can! Here is some additional Information:

    I am using:
    Access 2002
    Windows 2000 Pro

    The code stops at the line :
    ImgScan1.SetScanCapability 100, 1 'Black and White

    The object browser does not include the SetScanCapability method!! Why not when it is described on MSDN here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default..../graphmulti.asp

    Please Help!
    Thanks!

    The URL you provide doesn't lead to information about SetScanCapability; that can be found here. According to the MSDN documentation, GetScanCapability and SetScanCapability are available in:

    Imaging for Windows Professional Edition V1.0, V1.1, and V2.0
    Imaging for Windows 95 and 98
    Imaging for Windows NT 4.0

    Do you have one of these versions? I notice that your OS is Windows 2000, and that you mention Kodak Image Controls...
