Word2K Normal template attachment

When I open the Normal template in Word 2000 (whether by itself or by opening a document based on the Normal template), I get a message "Word cannot open this document template. (CProgram Files...EZPhotoEZPHOTO.DOT)"
Shortly after installing Word 2000, I removed that template because (a) I never use it, and ( I got tired of replying "no" when Word's closing message asked whether I wanted to save changes to it.
How do I get rid of "cannot open" message?
Thanks for your help!

Tools / Templates & Add-Ins and remove the template from the add-in list.

Re: Word2K Normal template attachment

I'd tried that several times, but the Remove button was greyed out (whether or not I selected or deselected or checked the template name). I was successful, however, when I found the file name in the MS OfficeStartup folder, copied it to a Temporary Trash folder, and deleted it from MS OfficeStartup (it behaved like a program file: it wouldn't move, I had to copy and delete it). Now we'll see what happens the next time I restart the system.
Thanks for your help.
