    Look Up Table? (2002)

I want to put a value in an empty cell, based on the information in the adjacent cell, for example, if the value ZX41 appears I want to put "Fairfield" in the next cell. I assume I need to use a lookup table, but I am more or less a total beginner, and I have no idea how to go about it. I would imagine it is pretty simple for all you knowledgable people out ther. Can you help?

    Thanks

Say you create a two-column table like this:

    <table border=1><td width=10%></td><td align=center width=10%>A</td><td align=center width=20%>B</td><td align=center>1</td><td>A</td><td>Alsace</td><td align=center>2</td><td>B</td><td>Burgundy</td><td align=center>3</td><td>C</td><td>Bordeaux</td><tr><td align=center>4</td><td>D</td><td>Rh

Thanks a lot, Hans. That works perfectly. I had tried to work it out from the online help, but I was a bit dense.

I would suspect, it is not that you are "dense" [you were smart enough to find the Lounge and ask for Help <img src=/S/thumbup.gif border=0 alt=thumbup width=15 height=15>], but it could be related to the fact the MS Help, in general, is only helpful as a reference once you already know how to do the task <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
