Project Central Problems (2000/SR1)
I'm in an environment that is still using 2000/SR1 with Project Central. Chances of moving up to 2003 are nil at present. With Project Central, there is strong resistance to managing project plans to it because (a) "large files are too easily corrupted" and ( "it's too easy to post multiple versions of the same file" due to use of different passwords. That leaves us with a duplication of effort - posting one plan to Project Central but managing from a copy of the plan outside Project Central, with resulting disconnects.
How have others dealt with these types of complaints? I'm not even certain that we have the most recent version of Project Central but can't find any identification on Microsoft of what the last released version was. We are using Build 9,0,2001,0219. Perhaps a more recent version of Project Central dealt with these problems?
Any shared experience would be very helpful!
