    Importing text files (Access2000/WinXP Pro)

Have imported a coma delimited text file into an Access table with no difficulty. When I attempt to execute a simple query seeking only a couple of fields, the entire set of fields is displayed. Is this the result of importing a text file, and if so, how can I limit the selection to just the few fields I desire?

When you imported the data, any chance all of the imported data actually imported into one column in the table? This would appear to give you the results you are getting. Check the access table to ensure the import worked properly and each imported field actually imported into its own field.

In the design view of the query, open the property window and look at the Output All Fields property. It should be set to No.
