This has just been released, has anyone tried it yet or had access to a beta version. Interested to know of any hooks before we install!!!

I'd wait until Woody has had a chance to look at it. I'm sure he'll write about it in Woody's Office Watch (W*W link at the bottom of each Lounge page)

Checking through the microsoft newsgroups these are the main issues arising out of this update that have come to light so far. The first 2 have been reported by quite a few people.

1/ As reported in <post#=352618>post 352618</post#>, is the security warning about a program trying to access the address book in Outlook. This is related to third-party add-ins. Some people found they only get the warning when using Word as the e-mail editor.

2/ There are 3 download options as detailed here
Use Office update in which case you need your original Office CD's, or download SP3 in one of 2 ways:
If you use the smaller download (only 16441 kb) then you must have access to your original Office CD's to complete the update.
For the larger download, also known as the full file download, (a massive 58925 kb) you do not need to have access to the original Office CD's. Quite a few people are reporting that when using the full file download they are still being asked for the original Office CD's.

3/ You must have Windows Installer 2.0 to install the update - See MSKB 832671 for details.

4/ As with all previous service packs/releases some people report getting error messages when trying to install the update. These typically relate to not being able to find one of the .MSI files.

It's early days and more issues will probably come to light, but so far this appears to be one of the more successful updates.
