    Outlook Security (XPsp2)

Is there any way to restrict the ability to delete an email message or to prevent deletion of messages within an archive? I've been asked to find a way to disable the ability to delete email messages until further notice.

Thanks for any help that might be ou there for this needle in the largest haystack in the world.

I haven't tried it, but assuming these Archives are standard PST archives, I think you can set them to be password encrypted. What I'm not sure about is if they can be used by the client user withour that user knowing the password.

What about preventing the user from deleting messages altogether? Any ideas?

If this is an Exchange Server folder, perhaps there are some administrative options there. Or, perhaps Group Policy can tackle this. Because message retention is such a hot issue under Sarbanes-Oxley, I imagine that the Outlook sites will have suggestions. Links? I'm only aware of http://www.Slipstick.com.
