Determining which rule applies (OL 2003)

    <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Loungers

Is there a way to check via VBA which rule was applied to a message?

    Thanks

I don't think the Outlook object model provides access to this sort of information. Possibly Extended MAPI (there are so many odd details buried in Outlook items...), but I am doubtful. Why would Outlook store this information? To help developers with debugging? Hah!

I ended up assigning a flag to some of the important rules, and then check which flag is used and thus identify the rule by the flag.

    I used the

    .FlagIcon

to check the flag, and though this will not work for a message that might satisfy multiple rules, it works for my need for the time being.

I wish we had more flags...

    Thanks again.
