Office 2000 registration nag? (2000 SR1)

I just reinstalled Office 2000 for the first time in about 3 years, and did NOT get the remembered registration nag. Is it possible that this nag has somehow expired because the software is so "old"? The only other thing I can think of is that I installed it on a brand-new laptop which appears to contain icons to install what must be a demo or trial version of Office 2003. I didn't even know they were there until I looked. (I didn't buy Office 2003 because I already own 97 and 2000 and have no need to upgrade.) Is if possible that has somehow caused the 2000 installation to bypass the registration nag? Any enlightenment out there? Thanks!

    Re: Office 2000 registration nag? (2000 SR1)

I installed Office 2K SR-3 in early January. I just got a request last week asking if I wanted to register after visiting the Office update site. On my old computer I never got the "offer". My new laptop runs XP Pro and the old Win98SE for a year then Win2K for four. I think it is almost arbitrary.
