    What me, Lie?

    1#

Alf is a strange liar. He lies on six days of the week, but on the seventh day he always tells the truth. He made the following statements on three successive days:
Day 1: "I lie on Monday and Tuesday."
Day 2: "Today, it's Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday."
Day 3: "I lie on Wednesday and Friday."

On which day does Alf tell the truth?

Four teachers at the same secondary school have the surnames Dutch, English, Painter, and Writer. Each teacher teaches two different subjects. Furthermore:

Three teachers teach the Dutch language
There is only one Maths' teacher
There are two teachers of Chemistry
Two teachers, Simon and Mr English, teach History
Peter doesn't teach the Dutch language
    Rob is a Chemistry teacher
Mr Dutch doesn't teach any course that is tought by Karl or Mr Painter.

What is the full name of each teacher and which two subjects does each one teach?

Statements on day1 & 3 can not both be lies as this would mean he tells truth on at least 2 days. Statement on day 2 must be a lie.

If statement on day1 is true, day3 is a lie so must tell truth on either Wednesday or Friday. This makes day1 either Wednesday or Friday, so day 2 being Thursday or Saturday would make statement on day2 true. That makes 2 true statements therefore statement on day1 must be a lie.

As statement on day1 is a lie he must tell the truth on either Monday or Tuesday. Therefore day3 (when he is telling the truth) must be Monday or Tuesday. That makes day2 either Sunday or Monday, and to make this statement a lie then day2 must Monday making day1 Sunday.

    Finally we have:
    Day1 (Sunday) -telling lie
    Day2 (Monday) - telling lie
    Day3 (Tuesday) -telling truth

Confused? - So am I and I just worked it out - my brain hurts.
    If I am wrong can I have 6 more guesses?</font color=yellow></span hi>
