    Printing Page Breaks (Word XP)

I am baffled by this problem but there must be a simple solution. My friend uses Word for XP. When she prints a document, the "page breaks" actually print as text on the paper, instead of functioning as page break codes. Tried printing a different document, tried rebooting -- no change.

This problem appeared out of the blue -- has never happened before.

I ran a search of this forum before posting this message but found nothing similar to this problem.

    Please help.

What does the text look like? Just like the page break in Normal View, or something else?

It looks just the way it looks onscreen. However, she says she is working in Print view.

Your friend may want to try a "Detect and Repair" - an option on the Help menu. If this doesn't solve the problem, there are more aggressive options outlined in this Knowledge Base Article .

In Print Layout view, you don't see any lines indicating page breaks, you see a pictorial representation of a different page, so now I am very confused. Could your friend print a PDF file (either with Acrobat or with a free print-to-PDF program such as pdf995) and capture a sample of this problem that way?
