Word 2002 Auto Text Appears to be corrupted (Word 2000 (9.0.3821 SR-1))

This just started happening a day or two ago. Whenever I use "insert, autotext" jibberish appears. Has anyone had this happen? I suspect it has something to do with normal.dot -- although I deleted normal.dot, rebooted and still had the same problem. Any help is appreciated this is very annoying!

Is the problem only in the dialog's preview area? In other words, is the text correct after you insert it? If so, it could be that one of the fonts Windows uses for these little preview dialogs has become corrupted. If the text itself is messed up, and you have found and renamed all of the Normal.dot templates on your system (assuming this particular AutoText is in Normal.dot and not your attached template or one of your add-ins), then we have a different problem.
