Extend selection backwards (2002)

    Is there a way to make Extend Selection find the previous item instead of the next item?

    I don't know about going backwards with Selection.Extend, which mimics the interactive feature, but you could try the VBA only method Selection.MoveStartUntil and see if that does what you need.

    You can also use a macro to toggle the "direction" of the selection:

Sub SelectionToggleActiveEnd()
    With Selection
    .StartIsActive = Not .StartIsActive
    End With
    End Sub

    I have assigned a keyboard shortcut for it (F2,T), and it comes in handy once in a while.
