Mail with Reply move to Sent Box (Outlook 2000 SP3 Version 9.0.0.6627)

My wife and I are using exactly the same versions of Outlook 2000, with all updates applied. If I reply to an e-mail, the original remains in my In-box, and is marked as having been replied. But on my wife's pc, her e-mail gets moved to the Outbox and later to the Sent box. I veriefied all of the settings against each other, and I cannot see any difference between the two pc's. Where should I be looking?

Open Outlook. Tools>Options>E-Mail Options>Save Copies of Messages in Sent Items folder.

for the suggestion John. Unfortunately, it didn't work. The box was already checked. I tried removing the check, restarting Outlook, setting it again, and once more restarting Outlook. Still no success. Any more ideas?

    Maury,

Even though your replies don't appear in the Outbox & then the Sent Items folder, do they in fact get sent?

Are you saying that you want your Sent Mail to be saved in the Sent folder? If so, then try using the Rules Wizard. The icon looks like an Opened Folder. Apply a Rule after an item has been sent. HTH

I have to admit I'm a bit confused by this scenario:

    <table border=1 bordercolor=black cellspacing=0 cellpadding=5><td>Your PC
    When you reply</td><td>Your Wife's PC
When she replies</td><td>Received Message remains in the Inbox
Reply message saved in Sent Items</td><td>Received Message moves to Outbox then Sent Items
Reply message saved in Sent Items</td></table>
Is that right? Obviously that seems crazy, so I'm not sure...

I'm just as confused, but read it differently:

He: Reply message saved in Inbox (Can this be possible without a special setting?)
She: Reply message saved in Sent Items

Both: Incoming mail marked as replied.
