Dual Boot: Load 98SE over XP (XP/98SE)

I have some software to run a big piece of hardware that needs win 98SE. But I want to run that software on a dual-boot system, on a newer more powerful machine. However, it seems that you can't load 98SE over XP--you would have to eliminate XP, load 98, and then load XP.

    Two questions:
    1. Any other way around this?
    2. Can I find a full version of 98SE anymore?

    Thanks

You may not need to install Windows 98 SE. Have you tried compatibility mode within XP to see if you can run the software from within Windows XP. For details search for "compatibility mode" within XP's Help & Support.

If Tony's suggestion won't work for you, you can get a third party utility such as Partition Magic to partition your drive even after you have installed XP. You can then install 98 to the newly created partition. As for 98SE, Google and you will find several suppliers.

You might also want to take a look at this link from Doug Knox's site about adding Win98 AFTER WinXP is already installed. I've not done this, so proceed carefully and if you're not sure, come back and ask more questions.
