    Win XP Default User (XP)

I just reloaded WinXp. The default User is Gateway_User and the default Company is Gateway. I don't want to have to change those every time I load a program.

    Help!

I had a Gateway PC running Windows 98 a couple of years ago. It had the Gateway "ownership" and user name, but I never bothered to change either, and never had any problems.
But if you do not find this aesthetically pleasing, go with the previous post!

As for the "Gateway_User ", make a new account with the name you want, log out of the "Gateway_User " account and log in as the new account. Set up your email and any thing else that is needed.
If you have made any files and save in the old account "My Documents", then move them to you new account. Once you have all of the files moved and things are running good, you can delete the old account, file and folders.

I would NOT rename the old account as your data will be listed under "Documents and SettingsGateway_User" and not as the new account name.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
