    Cascading Combo Boexs On Datasheet? (a2k (9.0.6926) SP-3 Jet 4.0 SP-7)

I have a datasheet with cascading combo boxes C1 and C2.

The entry in C1 restricts the values to pick from in C2

If I enter an A in C1 I want to restrict the lookup values in C2 to 101, 102, 103 I can do this with query criteria and it works OK.

However when I close and reopen the datasheet my C2 values are not showing until the the record gets the focus with mouse click.

What vba code and where do I put it so all C2 values show when I reopen the datasheet?

    Thanks, John

    My datasheet looks like this:

    C1 C2
    A 102
    B 201
    A 101
    C 302

My combo table looks like this:

    C1 C2
    A 101
    A 102
    A 103
    B 201
    B 202
    B 203
    B 204
    C 301
    C 302

I don't think you can solve this on a datasheet form. You would have to use a continuous form, and even there it requires a trick, putting a text box over the combo box. See the thread starting at <post#=340270>post 340270</post#> with its replies.

    Hi Hans

    I was afraid of that.

I retooled me datasheet into continuous form and used two controls for my C2 combo

One to display all the codes and the second to dropdown the specific codes based on value in C1

By sizing the second C2 combo to the width of the dropdown arrow and placing it on top on the first C2 combo dropdown arrow and adding combo refresh code for each when needed it seems to work OK
