System adds to Signature (2002 SP2)

My normal signature contains the following line Visit our website at http://www.vita.co.nz. When I send an email, whether internally or externally (we use exchange) this last line has the word hyperlink added and the address duplicated, like so
Visit our website at HYPERLINK "http://www.vita.co.nz"http://www.vita.co.nz.
Does anyone know why this is done, and if it can be corrected?

Give us a screen shot of the pane where you have defined the signature, so we can see the input.

    Hi Dave,
What did you use to clip this, as when I Shift +Print Screen and paste into word, it is too large to send?

Paul, don't paste into Word, paste into Paint (or Photoshop or whatever), edit as necessary, and save as a JPEG, then post the JPEG. More steps but much smaller.

<P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by jscher2000 on 22-Mar-04 13:42. )</P>Two things. First, as an alternative to JPEG, try PNG. It's less blurry for dialogs and such.

Second, the stuff you're seeing in your signature is a "textualized" version of a Word field code. Not sure how your signature got a Word field code in it, but then I never use Word as my mail editor.

Added: to capture just the active dialog, use Alt+PrintScrn instead of Shift+PrintScrn. Saves a lot of trimming. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

No, I have seen too many problems identified in this forum so have shied away, and encourage all our users to do the same.

Re: System adds to Signature (2002 SP2)

I agree with DaveA that it looks correct, but I have a related question to his: did you develop your RTF signature in Word? Using the Signature editor in Outlook, enter the straight URL in RTF and it will become 'hot' when the signature is placed into the message. So, along the lines Jefferson was thinking, perhaps you entered a hyperlink in Word then saved the sig file as RTF? That should not be necessary.

Re: System adds to Signature (2002 SP2)

Thanks John. I originally developed the signature in Outlook, but the icons for cellphones etc were pasted from Word at a later date. If I recall the link was also entered in Outlook.
So to determine if this was the problem, I deleted my original signature, then created a new one using Outlook only. Then sent an e-mail to myself. Unfortunately the problem persists.
