    Internet Explorer (XP Home)

    I'm having a problem with Internet Explorer. For several weeks, I've had Java error repeatedly, and on other PCs I do not have the same problem with the same websites. Today, I can't get to any site using IE; an error "Web page not available offline" appear. But Netscape Navigator and email client work fine.

    Cna I uninstall IE? Where can I download a current copy for reinstallation?

    Thanks,
    Richard Barrett

    For "not available offline," look for a global setting for working offline. In IE6, it's File>Work Offline. If it's toggled to work offline, you'd need to switch it back to normal.

    For error messages, the most common are JavaScript errors rather than Java program code errors. To stop viewing script errors, visit the Advanced tab of the options dialog (Tools>Internet Options...) and:
    1. <LI>Check the box for Disable script debugging;
      <LI>Uncheck the box for Display a notification about every script error
    This will rule out JavaScript errors. If you still get error messages, we'll have to probe a bit deeper.

    Thanks... the "Work offline" suggesited did the trick. The other options are set as you suggested... so I will probe deeper.

    Thanks again.

    Thanks... I think I'll give this a try.
