Fellow Loungers ~
This may be Starpost worthy....came across a very cool magic fix......a rare and hot reg tip for a common-sought issue (Thanks, Abraxas!).
Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftActive SetupInstalled Components{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}
Change the value of the REG_DWORD 'IsInstalled' to 0
Run IE6 SP1 setup - it will install only OE6!
To be on the safe side, it is recommended to check that the REG_DWORD, 'IsInstalled' for IE is set to 1 here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftActive SetupInstalled Components{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
This worked a a charm in a corporate network environment where IE & VPN settings must not be fouled as well as a home and non-networked environment in both W2K & XP.
