Yes, it is a keeper - a bud turned me on to it and we've put it in a few other forums as there seems to be nothing otherwise readliy published to let one know that one can actually install just OE. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Just the ticket for me, but being a novice--- change the value: 0x00000001 (1) to read: 0x00000000 (1) ??
The "(1)" confuses me.

Hi, Andy ~

I can see what you mean by that, but for the purposes herein, I would disregard the '(1)'. The value being changed is the hexadecimal is the figure '0x00000001'.

When you are in the registry editor and right-click 'IsInstalled' in the right-hand pane of the window, an 'Edit DWORD Value' box will appear and the 'Value data:' field is where you will make the edition.

I'd be wary of such a trick, as it may byte one in the back rank, to use polite chess terminology, when it comes time to download updates to IE/OE.

Not a 'trick', just a reg setting as are many others. M$ wants you to have them both on your little 'puter, 'sall.

I am happy to report that updates to both IE and/or OE have done nothing to jeopardize this (nor should it) that I have personally performed on five different computers in three different environments. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

OL2000 is not integrated into the IE browser as is OE. In your case, simply use your Office Suite CD and utilize the custom install feature and follow the directions from there.
