    sound

I know that OE has a way to insert WAV files (Format>Background>Sound), but I can't seem to find the technique in Outlook 2000.

    Is this not possible?

you need to insert it manually, there is no automatic way of doing it.

I don't create html messages enough (ok, not at all) to know if there is a way to add it within outlook at all. I know it lacks an edit source method and you need to create many things using notepad or an editor then use the file for stationary.

one thing to note, with the increased security in outlook, either as an update or builtin if using SR2 or Ol2002, the sounds may not play. Active stationery is inactive in Outlook now. (OL2002 has a menu item to enable it manually per each mail.)

You would need to enable Word as the mail editor, then display the Web Tools toolbar. You can insert your .wav or .midi sounds that way. <img src=/S/clever.gif border=0 alt=clever width=15 height=15>

Thanks! From the size and delay of the 'tada' sound, it may not really be worth it; nonetheless, I appreciate the tip!
