    Copying animations (PPT 2002)

Help wanted please! Can anyone tell me a shortcut to copy customised animations from one text box to another? I am doing a large presentation and my way is going to take hours!

    TIA

Assuming that these are the standard text boxes that come with each new slide - have you tried applying the animation to the text boxes in the master?
If that is not the case - I'd record a macro while I applied the animation. Then use the recorded macro to apply animation to the rest of the text boxes.

    Cheers

I have loads of extra text boxes on the page - actually trying to make it appear as if each cell in a table is appearing separately - was hoping there was a magic keyboard shortcut or the like - but thanks for this idea anyway

I generally do the lazy thing and Insert>Duplicate to avoid re-creating complicated layouts. Not sure this is any faster in your scenario.

Shyam has an addin in the works for this, but I don't believe it's out yet.

Keith Tromer has an "animation painter" addin that may work for you, though. http://www.corpimaging.com/PowerTools/ You want the "edit" tools.

Or you can just select all your textboxes and apply an animation. PPT will apply the settings to all of them.

Thanks Echo - the PowerTool option is perfect - quicker even than selecting all objects and setting the animation, as I then find you have to change the settings to stop them all coming in at once. For anyone else reading this the Effects Library on the above link performs some handy tricks too
