    AutoFill (Outlook 2002)

    Goodmorning!

Can anyone help me with the following problem?
When I type d.rietv in my 'to' field in a new e-mail message, an e-mailaddress which I don't want automatically appears. I know that when you have several choices you just select the wrong one and then use Delete, but in this case I don't get any other choices.
Is there a standard list in which I can change these addresses?
I don't want to disable this option, otherwise this problem was already solved.

So, if anyone knows anything about this, I'm pleased to hear this!

    Regards,

There is no directly accessible standard list. I think, in your case, you will have to Delete the wrong address so that it can learn the right address. It appears that the rest of the list is working correctly. HTH

How do I permanetely delete that adress? It autofills automatically the wrong one. When I delete it I can type the new address ofcourse. But when I type the new address again the autofill that appears is still the wrong one... so in this case, I don't get a list from which I can choose.... strangely enough...

Outlook might not give you the pop-up list if there is only one match, so try to add a similar fake address to the nickname file by typing:

    d.rietvXXXXX@nowhere.com

    and resolving that with Ctrl+K.

The next time you type d.riet you should get a pop-up that lets you use the delete key to clear the one you want to clear.

Then repeat the above with the "real" address, and clear the XXXXX one.

I sure hope this works. The alternative is to wipe out ALL of the nicknames. If that's not too inconvenient, search for your profilename.NK2 file and rename it profilename.NKold and you can start clean.
