    incorrect saves - again

I posted this once before, then thought I found the answer, but the problem has returned.
QUESTION: What part of the computer operation is responsible for the saving of information, as in graphics, files, general
    information, etc.
My problem is graphics. There will be a graphic 3Dtype image, saved a number of times, each time from a different angle,
and each time with a unique name (front-left, side-r, loback-left, etc.,) When I have saved a number of them, and am ready to
go on to the next step, retreiving them for coloration, etc., I find that the images no longer match the description of the saved
file. For instance, "side-left" may show a front view of the image, and so on. I have slowed down naming them, double-checking that they're correct before saving them, but the problem continues. I have contacted the program developers, and
they cannot figure out how this could happen. Would this be Direct X-9, or some operation within Windows? I'm not that
smart to know where to look. By the way, this happened after a virus attack, and I cleaned up the computer. Sure could use some ideas, and thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert on graphics, but wouldn't this be a function of the program that you're using to save them? If you're using a particular program to save a file & it's saving the wrong one, I'd think that would have to do with the program itself.

When I am saving these images, they're displayed in Internet Explorer, or Windows Explorer. If I'm going to work on them,
they are called up in the other program from files I have placed on the desktop. I hope this helps to explain, rather than add to the confusion??

    Re: incorrect saves - again

Well, since I posted the pointer to the previous thread, I'm gonna jump in here with a couple of questions. I still don't think I know the answer, if it isn't some bug buried way down in the MYHOUSE program. I notice that you say that the "saving" process displays the image in Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer and I've never seen that before. Usually when saving a file, it's a pretty clear cut process that opens a saving window, letting you pick a name and location. What do the two Explorer programs have to do with saving? Doesn't the program display images you're drawing internally? Is it possible that you're using some oblique way of saving and would be better served to use the "traditional" Save As dialogue routine?

The other question is so far fetched I'm embarrassed to ask it. Why are you saving files to the DESKTOP? I can't imagine that there would be any limitations there, but would it be worth trying to save the files in a more "normal" location such as a data file folder somewhere on the hard drive? I know, I'm really fishing here, but I don't have a need to go buy another copy of the program <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    Re: incorrect saves - again

Sorry - my bad communication. They are saved in the "tree" of Explorer, not the window of Explorer. I've written to myHouse
and they can't help either, so I'm now going to format the hard-drive (again). Thanks for all the helpfull tips and stuff, but
this combination of Photoshop, Windows and myHouse seems to be poison! So, I should be used to wiping the records
clean every so often, like scandisk and the other utilities. I just hope it helps!
