    Printing Contacts (Outlook 2002SP3)

I'm trying to print an address book using the detailed card view of Contacts. My problem is that I have several categories that I would like to print separately, but I'm not given the option to select which one I want to print. Instead, all contacts are merged into one alphabetical list. Can anyone show me how to print a category only?

That's what I have been doing, but I can't figure how to format the mail merge document to show the alphabetical letter headings like printing from Outlook gives and to put each contact under the correct letter.

Hang on.... This is how I do it.
I too keep my contacts sorted into 18 different catagories. (business, family, friends etc.)

Have in view your contacts, showing all the catagories. They do not have to be expanded.

Click on View, then Curent View, then Customize Current view.
Click on Filter, then More Choices, and then in the Categories Box, type in the name of the category that you want to print.

    click OK
You will (should) have showing only the category that you typed in the box.
You can now add or take out fields to print what you would like.

NOW, If you are like me and have names in more than one catagory, then you will see each category listed that has that name in it. Business and Family for example. Go back to View and click on Phone List. This should give you only the category that is being filtered.

    Anyway that is how I do it. <img src=/S/dizzy.gif border=0 alt=dizzy width=15 height=15>

BTW, Outlook will save what you have just done in the View, Curent View list if you give it a name. Then you can just clikc on it and you won't have to go through all of the above each time.

Hope it works. (Maybe mail merge would be better.......) <img src=/S/bananas.gif border=0 alt=bananas width=33 height=35>
