In the last few days my toolbars keep rearranging when I log onto IE even though they are locked. Is there some file that got corrupted. I arrange back to where I like them lock it and tomorrow they will go back to a different arrangement.

Are any of these a third party type of toolbar?
If so, you may not have any control over their location.

No. and no new additions for 3 months except have begun to use windows instant messenger. Cant seem to keep the toolbar order fixed any more.

To me, the default toolbars are mostly the same. If you are trying to affect the Menu Bar, Standard Toolbar and Address Bar, you could try setting both WE and IE the same. (It could be that problems may arise from having both the Google and the Yahoo custom toolbars enabled.) HTH

By the way both "Google and the Yahoo " are third party tools bars. They will want to control how their toolbars are displayed and may be reset to their arrangement.

Thanks To all. I understand. It is just Strange that all these toolbars have been in place for months and months and just in the last 2 days when I have started using Windows messenger more that the toolbars like to start moving around from their supposedly fixed locked position.
Thanks to all who have given input.

Would running the IE Repair, I so often read about here in the Lounge, help?
H Lewton
I am willing to try it, but I did a search on repair in the lounge and got a lot of hits most with very long threads. Is there on thread that talks about how to do a repair in detail??
Jerome
I don't recall. I think when I did it I got it from a MS KB article.

THanks
