Footnotes between section breaks (Word 2002)

    Hi,

Has anyone come up with a workaround for the incredibly annoying bug that occurs when one has continuous section breaks on a page - and when you insert a footnote in text that resides between the continuous section breaks - the following section (even though there's a continuous section break as opposed to a next page section break) automatically bumps to the next page?

We need the continuous section breaks in there because we have tables throughout the template - and each table is setup to allow for table footnotes to be inserted - but we also need to allow for regular, bottom of page, footnotes for text that appears outside of (between) the tables.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

This problem is mentioned in WD: Page Breaks Incorrectly If You Insert a Continuous Section Break Between Footnotes with the not very satisfactory suggestion of converting all footnotes to endnotes. I couldn't find a good workaround in the newsgroups.

I don't understand why you need the continuous section breaks? What do they do for you that you couldn't get another way - eg if using a two column section (perhaps nesting tables inside tables)
