    File Created on Desktop

    Hi there,

There is a file that is created and placed on my desktop after I restart my computer, It does not occur all the time. When I view the file all I can make out are some email addresses that have come from my address book. I think the file is the remnants of a virus, I use norton anti virus software and it is updated every week if not more. I have run virus scans and they come up all clear. I would really like to stop this file from ending up on my desktop. Does anyone have any ideas? the file name is a squigilly line. I am using windows 98SE, I have done all of the windows updates.

It's an Outlook Express file caused by an Internet Explorer update, for which there is no fix to date. Read this thread for a little more information.
