Insert Symbol Dialog (Word 2002 XP-3)

For some reason the Insert Symbol dialog in Word will no longer appear. It still works in all the other Office apps (Office Pro).
I have run the Office repair utility twice as well as Norton's WInDoctor with no results. I'm trying to avoiid completely uninstallling & reinstalling Office.
    Any Ideas?

    Thanks.

Often, with a misbehaved menu item (or icon), removing the offending item from the menu and then reinserting it (using customize) will restore the correct behaviour. Try this before you take more drastic actions.

I agree with Rebel. If his suggestion doesn't cure the problem, try the steps listed in <post#=197827>post 197827</post#>.
    Cheers,

A big thanks to Rebel & Phil Rabichow -- problem solved. It was the data key as shown in Phil's referenced post. Thanks again guys.
