    Addressbook (Outlook 2000)

My hard drive crashed and I was able to recover most of the folders. I want to know if there is a way to restore my address book onto the new hard drive in Outlook. I think the address book is under a file name called mailbox.pst. <img src=/S/rose.gif border=0 alt=rose width=15 height=15>

    Re: Addressbook (Outlook 2000)

PST files contain the Outlook Folders for Calendar, Contacts, Deleted Items, Journal, Notes, Tasks, and three or four types of Outlook Message Folders. If your Addressbook was derived from Contacts, see <!post=this,334705>this<!/post> advice for setting Contacts as Addresses. Otherwise your address could be a file called <something>.PAB, so run a File Explorer Search for *.PAB, and if found add the PAB as a service (or import the PAB into Contacts and stop using a PAB, which is MS's preference and future direction).

John, Thank you for your quick reply. I will give it a shot tonight....I noticed that you are flying an aussie flag...where are you from. I used to live in Exmouth Western Australia. Loved it up there!!!
