    Arial/Tahoma default font (VBA/Word97 SR2)

Please forgive if this has been answered before. I have no idea what to use for search terms to see if it has been.

I have one computer that when you are creating a user form and you insert a label, option button, etc., the default font is Tahoma. I have another computer that, for the same project, is Arial.

Does anyone know how to change the one to make it match the other? I would prefer to use Tahoma, as it is easier on our eyes.

I've looked in the registry of the one computer, but I wasn't able to come up with anything.

    Thanks.

I suspect it is governed by the settings in the Appearance tab of the Display Properties control panel, not by anything in Word.

Good idea. Not the answer. The computer that shows Arial as the default font for label.caption DOES have Tahoma as the font used in Display, Appearance. The other computer that shows Arial, does NOT have either Arial or Tahoma as a font used in Display, Appearance.

I haven't been able to find where this setting is stored (yet), but when you set the font for a userform, you set it as the default for all new controls created on that form. Not exactly what you want, but better than changing the font of controls all the time.

    Isn't this stored in Normal.dot?

Running off the same normal.dot! IOW, both computers are pointing to the same normal.dot.

Then I fear that there is something wrong with the form. It really is supposed to act that way...

That was the conclusion, Hans, I was coming to. I will start from scratch.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Export/Remove/Import often tames them, but "from scratch" can be fun, too. <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15>
