Looking for help with Robohelp software

I know this is mostly a Windows site.

What I am looking for is a user group/site like this one for Macromedia's Robohelp. I have version X5 and i need to find out how to publish a new help system I just finished but I can't find those instructions anywhere. So if anybody knows of a Robohelp site some some users of that software it help.

Try searching for "robohelp forum" in Google. There appear to be several English and German groups operating on the web.

Macromedia bought eHelp? Wow... hopefully that will improve the support which, in the past, did not have the best reputation.

The only place I can think of to go is http://www.helpcommunity.com/robohelp/
Links to forums are on the left side. I'm still in 9.2 world with Robo(Help, HTML, Demo, etc) How do you like X5 so far... other than the lack of documentation (does anyone see the irony in this??) I've only used their RoboDemo forums and they were more or less helpful (every problem I ran into seemed to be a "feature" and was going to be "modified" for the next build... that I had to buy... <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>)
    hope that helps
    have fun

Re: Looking for help with Robohelp software

Will the Flashhelp does look "nice", and there is a manual that you can download. Only problem with the manual is that it is a very poor manual. If I was to turn in a manual like this.... they'd just delete it. I have found that all the new X series upgrades look good, but they are very very very poor in documentation and support. Unless you are willing to pay a very high price to get your answers. The Books that are published are also very poor. If I had not recommended it in the first place, I'd ask to replace it with something else.

What we need is a Robohelp help manual that anyone can add to.

Thanks for the input... very good to know. I was cruising around and saw the different "skins" you can use and you're right, it "looks" cool. If we do decide to upgrade (as we're talking about it) I'll be sure to bring that up and suggest spending the extra bucks for a class or something. Sorry I couldn't help you more with your initial problem though.
    Thanks

I took an Intro. level class about 3 yrs ago in Dallas and the traing manual they used is something like the manual you can download. If you do take an Introl level class follow it right away with a higher level class, that might be where you realy learn how to do things.

Re: Looking for help with Robohelp software

I took a RoboHTML class about 3 years ago also... but the new version looks a little far removed... I may need a refresher to get up to date with all the new fangled tips and tricks they have now. Especially with the industry so interested in single sourcing... when no one has quite nailed it yet.
    Thanks
