Wow

Man guys you ain't gonna believe the deal I found today. I have been using a Sony Trinitron 15" for a long time,,real good picture but I wanted something bigger. Well,,me and my wife and Parents went to a place called Traders Village today,,It's a huge Flea Market,,probably the second largest in Texas. Anyway I picked up a Sony Trinitron Flat Screen P1110 { 21"} for $60.00. It has an Outstanding picture and color on it. I mean it is Kick *beep*.It looks like new. Can you believe that????? $ 60.00. WOW. And he had 2 or 3 more of them left.
I'm setting here using it and it is kinda over whelming when your use to a 15" But the picture is unbelievable.

I'd guess it's "reconditioned" or something. 80% off is a pretty big discount.

I couldn't believe it eather. My guess is it is reconditioned or he bought out someone real cheap. This place is to well known for it to be HOT,,,so the other options are as already mentioned. All I can say is,,,the picture is really Fabulous and really BIG.. And by the way,,,you can hook up two computers to it.

When you say "hot" do you mean "fell off the back of a lorry"?

Hey Cowboy,

If I send you a check, will you pick one up for me and ship it all expenses paid?

Re: Wow

If your serious,,Sure why not. But don't get mad at me if something happens in shipping. Monitors can be very fragil little boxes,,and this guy only gives you a Seven day warranty, but be my guest. These things are heavy,,so I don't know what shipping would cost. Now if ya want,,I can give you his Tel # and you can call him and maybe work something out. Just PM me if ya do. By the way,,he is Spanish and his English is not the best.

Re: Wow

I pity the sucker who trys to nab this heavy thing with only five fingers.

Believe it or not,,several of my friends are going to go buy one of these. I talked to the guy yesterday{ Thank God one of his buddies speaks better English} and he still had plenty. The ones still in boxes were $100.00,the one like I bought out of the Box was $70.00{ I talked him down to $60.00}. And don't ask me what the difference is, Boxed or Unboxed. I asked him the same question, and he just said..................................Go ahead guys and guess what he said..................................Yep..he said " well one is sealed in the box, and one ain't. I didn't want to confuse him, so I left it at that.

Re: Wow

I don't know what all the fuss is about. We've had half a dozen or so "Digital" 21" monitors since 1995 and Windows NT 3.50! I've had two on my desk for the last 18 months or so. The screen on one goes a bit bluey-purple occasionally so I have to bash it very hard on the top surface with my fist to "adjust the electronics". Well-known hardware engineer's solution!

And yes, you almost need a fork-lift truck to lift them!

Re: Wow

The 15" Trinitron I replaced with the 21" Trinitron,, I have had for 3 years with not even a glitch,,and it was left on 99.9% of the time. So I am hoping this Trinitron serves me as well as the last. The 15" is going to be used on my Testing Machine that sets behind me. OH,,, and that Banging technique,,,did ya learn that in A+ Core Hardware classes? I must of overlooked that one,, Dang it.

Re: Wow

Man, I can't believe they don't teach that ol' engineering trick in TEXAS. My Daddy taught me the ol' "bang on the top of the TV" trick many years ago, before "computers." I even apply the technique to other kinds of equipment, like my small beard trimmer (brand name omitted). Sometimes when I turn it on, it doesn't start. So, I just give it the ol' slammo down on the bathroom sink top and voila, she runs like a top!

No sir,,,here in Texas we are taught to put as many holes in it as we can. We tend to shoot stuff that makes us mad. Hey,,,maybe if I just Nick It a couple times,,,think that might work?

Re: Wow

Cowboy,

That was really good of you to accept my offer of getting one of those monitors for me. I was serious !

BUT....It was also good that I re-read the posts and found that they were CRT type monitors. I thought you meant an LCD flat screen. I definitely would have taken you up on the offer if they were LCD. The tip off was the mention of weight and I couldn't figure out why LCD's would be so heavy.

So, I will pass on your very generous offer and wait. ( But If you ever hear of an LCD around that price........ )

Thanks, Cowboy.
