Word 2000/Windows 2000 install errors
#1: Recently installed Word 2000 SR-1 (as part of Office 2001 SR-1) on new
machine running Windows 2000... for some reason Word will not start now
giving the error message:
"Winword.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program. An error log is being created."
I tried restarting, rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling and the same
error appears... however, I can get into the other Office programs fine...
How can I fix this.
#2: Office 2000 was installed from an upgrade CD that I purchased to upgrade
my old PC running Office 97. I cannot locate the old CD and when installing
Office 2001, and asked for the "qualifying program", I mistakenly pointed to
the Office 2001 CD and then Office install proceeded.... now whenever
loading Office programs, a registration reminder pops up and asks to
register and then keeps counting down the number of uses... I had previously
registered the software on my old PC and skipped doing it here (actually
started the onlinle registration and then stopped it).. it keeps asking for
a confirmation number... what should I do to fix these problems?
