    Multiple Meeting Invitations (Outlook 2000)

When we send a meeting request to a distribution list, we sometimes see two meeting invitations in some (not all) of the recipients inbox! When the recipient opens and accepts one, both show as read. The meeting appears once on the calendar. I've done a lot of testing and cannot figure out why we see it sometimes for some users. Any suggestions or ideas of what I should check out? We are on Exchange 2000, Windows XP at the desktop.

I've no idea but am guessing. My observation is that Outlook generates multiple "copies" of a person's name for selection if you enter fax or phone numbers into their contact record. I also observe that Outlook will take a perfectly good email address, look it up in contacts for the "public name", and turn it into a different email address. All this goes to make me think that there is a possibility with distribution addresses that extra records are being generated.
