    Formula in Chart title (2002)

Hi Loungers, I'm want to be able to use an &"text" to the cell reference in the chart title, ie =a1&"Text". This works fine in a cell but when I use the same formula I get an error. Is it possible to do this or am I doing something wrong?

    Any thoughts?

Re: Formula in Chart title (2002)

Put the formula =A1&"Text" in another cell, say B1, and use =Sheet1!$B$1 as formula for the chart title (use the correct sheet name). This is the only type of formula that works in the chart title.

Note: don't type the formula in the chart title itself. Enter a dummy text, for instance a single x in the Chart Options dialog. With the chart title selected, click in the formula bar and type =, then point to the cell. When you press Enter, the result of the formula will replace the dummy title.

Thanks again Hans - I should have thought of that!
