Plugins in Outlook 2k3 (Office 2003)

    Hi,
I am using Outlook 2k3 since a few weeks. I also have McAfee VirusScan installed which integrates into Outlook with two little buttons for scanning mails. One day an error message appeared, which I of course did not read, and since then those two buttons disapeared. I already re-installed VirusScan and Outlook but still no luck. It seems that exactly those two buttons have been disabled since everything else works fine. Any suggestions?

Hi Jan & welcome to the lounge

There was probably a conflict between Outlook & the plug-in so Outlook disabled it.

To check if this is the case select "Help>About Microsoft Office Outlook"
Click on the "Disabled Items" button. If the McAfee plug-in was disabled it will be listed here. You will also have the option to re-enable it. If there is some sort of conflict between Outlook and the plug-in (rather than it being a one off occurrence) then sooner or later Outlook will disable the plug-in again.

    Hi Tony,
perfect. That was it. The two buttons are back up and seem to be working. Just have to know where to look. Many Thanks.
